Maggie Buckley

I am a fully qualified and insured counsellor and an accredited and registered member of BACP. I hold an Enhanced Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service which is continuously updated and allows me to work with adults, children and young people.

I qualified and graduated in 2012 from York St John University. I have worked as a counsellor in the voluntary sector with adults experiencing a wide range of issues. I have experience of facilitating groups for adults and young people with a focus to improve self esteem and emotional wellbeing and with an aim to build resilience and work on strategies to deal with issues to include anxiety, depression and managing difficult emotions.

I also have experience working as a case manager and counsellor for a Wellbeing at Work organisation in Harrogate.

I am an Associate Counsellor for Arch Mediation Services who work with families to improve relationships and support a wide variety of presenting issues. I am also an Associate Counsellor with Krysallis Counselling Services where I use practice rooms to see one to one clients. Krysallis is close to the bus and rail network and there is disc parking in the area.

I offer free initial telephone consultations to discuss your needs and for you to ask any questions you may have. If you decide to work with me we can regularly review and there will be no pressure or obligation to continue if it is not what you want.

I have completed extra counselling training to allow me to work therapeutically with children and young people.

My training and experience allows me to work therapeutically with children and young people with a wide variety of issues. I work in private practice rooms in central Harrogate, charitable organisations, schools and other venues. I can offer one to one counselling and therapeutic group work.

I have written and delivered a number of therapeutic courses for young people which use evidence based material. I am currently running bespoke courses with a colleague which we have recently delivered in a local school. Such courses aim to support young people to develop self esteem and confidence and generally improve their emotional wellbeing and promote resilience when dealing with current issues they are facing. I also facilitated a follow on support group for a number of years which successfully supported some of the young people completing courses in maintaining healthy levels of self esteem. Our therapeutic courses can be tailor made to suit the needs of individuals.
